Copper-catalyzed click reaction on/in live cells

We demonstrated that the copper-catalyzed azide–alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction could be performed inside live mammalian cells without using a chelating azide. Under optimized conditions, the reaction was performed in human ovary cancer cell line OVCAR5 in which newly synthesized proteins were metabolically modified with homopropargylglycine (HPG). This model system allowed us to estimate...

Bioinspired Copper Coordination Polymer Catalysts for Oxygen Reduction Reaction

Non–noble metal catalysts have recently emerged as promising alternatives to the expensive platinum catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). In this study, a new domain of materials, copper based coordination polymers, has been investigated as promising catalysts for ORR. The study was inspired by copper incorporating biomolecules, which efficiently catalyse the oxygen reduction react...

Fast copper-free click DNA ligation by the ring-strain promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition reaction.

Templated DNA strand ligation by the ring-strain promoted alkyne-azide [3+2] cycloaddition reaction is very fast; with dibenzocyclooctyne, the reaction is essentially complete in 1 min. It is inhibited by the presence of a single mismatched base pair suggesting applications in genetic analysis.

Recent Advances in Recoverable Systems for the Copper-Catalyzed Azide-Alkyne Cycloaddition Reaction (CuAAC).

The explosively-growing applications of the Cu-catalyzed Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction between organic azides and alkynes (CuAAC) have stimulated an impressive number of reports, in the last years, focusing on recoverable variants of the homogeneous or quasi-homogeneous catalysts. Recent advances in the field are reviewed, with particular emphasis on systems immobilized onto polyme...
